The human body is an amazing machine. This is seen in so many different ways if we are in tune to it, but none that amaze me more than when a woman is carrying a baby. The body just seems to naturally kick into gear and start to tell you the things that you need in order to help nourish and care for the unborn child. Then, even after the baby is born, the body keeps helping us to keep on track so that, in case we are breastfeeding, we can keep the new baby healthy as well. The problem is that sometimes the things that the body is telling us to do not only make us gain weight during pregnancy, but to hold onto that weight once we are done with the pregnancy. As I said, the body is simply an amazing thing. And it wants to help you to take care of your newborn baby in the right way, supplying it with the nourishment that it needs through the breast milk that it is eating. The problem is that some of the things that it is helping you to do are not really the things that will make you let go of that post pregnancy fat. That is where you have to regulate what it is telling you verses what you are doing. Your doctor will help you to know what you can eat so that you can remain healthy for the baby, while at the same time not filling up on fat and bad carbohydrates. Plus, those women that breastfeed are typically quicker to lose the weight that those that do not breastfeed. So if you are eating the right things, getting some moderate exercise and breastfeeding you will soon begin to see that post pregnancy fat melt away.
