Is It A Caesarean Section Delivery For Me?

A caesarean section delivery is one of the methods of delivery. Often, to make a quick buck, since the c-sec delivery is more expensive, some unethical doctors advise women to go in for this method. Let us understand the risks behind a c-sec delivery:

  • It is a major surgery and unlike a normal delivery, it is not an easier method of delivery.
  • There are always chances of problems with the sutures- both inner and outer stitches may get infected.
  • The recovery period after a caesarean section is longer, 4-5 days as compared to 1-2 days with a normal delivery.
  • In some instances, women never regain any sensation in the incision area.
  • Some women feel pain in the incision area in certain positions, even many years after the delivery.
  • In many cases, regular exercise also fails to remove the pouch beneath the incision area, leaving it ugly and ungainly.
  • Recovering from a Caesarean section delivery is painful and gradual.
  • There can be blood loss.
  • There are risks involved both for the mother and the baby.
  • There can be weeks before you are able to resume your normal activities, even like sweeping, vacuuming etc.

  • Recovery is slow and you will feel pain when your uterus starts contracting to its normal size.
  • Your incision will pain you a lot and walking for first few days is tortuous.
  • The feeling around the stitches would be more of a burning sensation and will ease only after some days.
  • If the pain does not ease and there are other problems like chills or dizziness, then you must see your doctor immediately.
  • Slowly, the pain will fade and an aching sensation will replace it. This too shall subside after some time.

    • It is advisable that you opt for a caesarean, only if no other method is possible.
