Are you planning to rent an Recreational Vehicle, or RV, for an upcoming camping trip? There are several important things to consider before you choose which RV you will rent.
Taking a vacation in an RV with a family is often easier and more relaxed due to the additional convenience of having a bathroom, kitchen and extra space available. In case you are going to travel with a bigger family, the extra areas are especially useful for carrying equipment and privacy.
Prior to selecting your RV, it is a good idea to find a campground that permits them and has facilities designed for them. For example, if the campground has a waste removal station, this will make your trip much easier. If the campground provides larger sites for RVs, this will also have room for both the RV and possibly a car as well.
You will also want to check out the RV before you sign any rental agreement. Be sure to look for any scratches, dents, missing light bulbs, and all the electrical outlets to make sure that they are all working correctly. If you find any of these items in bad condition, not functioning or just plain missing, you should report it, to avoid paying extra for their replacement or repairs later when you return the RV.
Other important things to check out are how cancellations are handled, insurance, and any other requirements that are necessary to rent the RV. This information is good to know because there are some insurance policies that will not cover you when renting an RV.
Be sure to pick out an RV roomy enough to let everyone in the family be comfortable and have the necessary equipment ready for your camping trip. Your RV will be your home for the duration of the trip and it is vital that each family member can relax and enjoy their vacation.

Once you have selected your dealer, test drive your RV, to make certain that you can handle it on the road easily, before you rent it. If you have a long distance trip in mind, be sure that you are able to drive at night. Night driving has different considerations, like headlight glare, sleepiness and seeing the sides of the road clearly.
