A Few Professions in World of Warcraft

Shortly after starting your first World of Warcraft character it is time for you to choose which profession youre going to play as. Each profession has its strengths and weaknesses and it largely depends on what exactly you are looking for in your online experience as to which profession you choose. If you are looking to make vast sums of gold in the game, certain professions are much better than others, while you might find that if you are only looking for good items or boosting your class, youll want to choose something else.
Engineering and Blacksmithing
Engineering works well with nearly any character class. It offers you a chance to make amazing equipment that you can use for any character and sell some rather pricey equipment as well. When you reach higher levels, being an engineer can be very advantageous, bypassing much of the ridiculously priced higher level equipment in favor of your own works.
When first starting, engineering is downright expensive though. Youll need to put a bit of money into it before you ever start to reap the benefits and reselling items is not nearly as profitable as some other professions. If you decide to go with Engineering or Blacksmithing, you will need to choose mining as a supplement to keep yourself in stock with plenty of pricey minerals.
Tailoring and Leatherworking
As the simplest professions in the game, these two are perfect for anyone interested in crafting bags and cloth armor. Its a great class for the beginning of the game because youre crafting items that characters will need from level one to level seventy. Leatherworking is a great choice for Druids and Hunters who wear leather as armor. For those that choose leatherworking, skinning is the obvious secondary profession to choose.
Alchemy
This is a great profession for anyone looking to become a healer or mage, in need of potions and healing salves throughout the game. It will save you vast amounts of money over time. Youll want to be able to make more of these items, especially if you run low often. Herbalism is the obvious choice to go with this one.
Secondary Professions
There are plenty of secondary professions to choose from. They are all beneficial in their own ways and for that reason should be carefully considered depending on what youll be using them for. You can learn as many of these secondary professions as you want though, so if you have the time, take it and use it wisely.
These are only a few of the many professions that you can choose from in World of Warcraft, each of them equally suited to a different style of play as the next. Choose wisely and you can make great deals of gold or simply have much better equipment. Its up to you.
